Bridgewater has been named one of the 100 safest small towns in the United States! At number 72 on the list, we are the only Virginia community listed. We are pleased to have this national recognition, but we really should be ranked higher. After all, at this time of year, we know that we are safer than Sleepy Hollow Village, NY, which tied for first.
When asked about the ranking, Police Chief Phillip Read said, “Bridgewater Police Department works hard to provide service to the community focusing on crime deterrence and proactive policing. We also live in a great community that is active in working with the police to fight crime, keep our community safe and build a high quality of life.”
