Signs 101: I & I Signs

You may have noticed brown informational signs at some of our parks. We started installing these a few years ago, titling them as “Information & Instructions” (hence the i2 in the magnifying glass icon.) These signs are meant to be informative, either by sharing history about a particular park, or by noting various park regulations (like the dog cleanup sign shown below). We also wanted a consistent look across our parks, so that’s why we developed this design and have tried to stick with it around town.

Brown signs are used across the country to highlight parks and recreational areas, so they should look familiar in a park setting. Not surprisingly, the MUTCD sets brown signs with white lettering as the official standard for “Recreational and Cultural Interest” signage.

Look for i2 signage around Town.
