The United Way of Harrisonburg and Rockingham County is partnering with CAPSAW, the Community Action Partnership of Staunton, Augusta and Waynesboro, to conduct a Digital Opportunity Assessment for our local region. This project involves engaging with local stakeholders to conduct a needs assessment, identify barriers to digital opportunity, and develop potential solutions for the identified populations in the region to create digital equity.
So what exactly is digital equity? The goal of digital equity is to reduce the divide between those who have access to the Internet and those who do not.
Responses to this Assessment will help create regional plans to increase digital access to the Internet and address local concerns with local solutions, thus improving digital equity in our community.
