Summer Camp Recap

Bridgewater Summer Camp and Bright Star Theatre Camp are in the books!  Bridgewater Summer Camp was a blast.  We had numerous fun activities including watching The Little Mermaid and Rockfish Wildlife Sanctuary at Sipe Center, playing a round of mini golf at Sandy Bottom, learning about the storm water model, and experiencing a scavenger hunt throughout Wildwood Park.  We also did tons of sports, games, and crafts at Oakdale Park. Campers even had a chance to witness some magic with a local magician! We ended the week with epic bottle rockets, water balloons, and a pizza party. A great time was had by all and we are so glad we are able to offer this camp to children in Bridgewater and the surrounding areas!

Sipe Center hosted their first summer theatre camp this year.  Teaching artists from Bright Star Touring Theatre guided campers through the week encouraging creativity, collaboration, and communication. Younger campers in grades 3 – 5 focused on fairy tales and wrote their own monologues from the unique perspective of a chosen fairy tale character.  Older campers in grades 6 – 8 also focused on creating their own characters and writing monologues throughout the week, as well as learning a choreographed dance.  Both groups performed their monologues and dance for family and friends during their final showcase at the end of the week.
