A First Look at the FY24 Budget

Here is a a peek at our proposed budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2023. Here’s the gist of it:

  • No new taxes. No tax increases. Utility service fees up by a little less than inflation (except for sewer, which needs to go up by the 6.05% increase planned by the Regional Sewer Authority).
  • Average, non-guaranteed wage increases of 6.1%. (Plus a little more for our very best employees and for those whose wages have become manifestly non-competitive.)
  • Included: Riverwalk Phase II, a gazebo for Whitelow Park, repairing the Wildwood shelter, and replacing a fair amount of ancient equipment.

Our budget hearing will be on April 25 at 7:00 p.m. at Sipe Center. We are working on the budget book now, and it should go out 7-10 days before the hearing.

We have prepared a video about the proposed budget. We apologize in advance for the audio. It was a windy day, and Jay had tried to save some money by purchasing a $26 microphone. 🙃
