In this occasional series, we try to inject some facts into wild and woolly rumors which float through town and social media. This one concerns Magnolia’s, and it’s actually more of a question: ”Bridgewater town owns the building. My question is did they go up on the rent or just didn’t renew Magnolia’s lease.”
Neither. The lease still has 40 months left on it. And the rent was fixed until June 1, 2025, when annual CPI increases would be made to keep up with inflation. We won’t speculate on what happened to Magnolia’s, but we’re sad to see them go and didn’t nudge them out.
The Industrial Development Authority (which owns the restaurant building) is working hard to find a great tenant for the space. (If you have any suggestions, contact Gwen Gottfried!) Meanwhile, the Town will be serving up snacks and concessions at the rink beginning January 15.
