Happy Charter Day!

Happy Charter Day! We have a fun day of events planned to celebrate our Town’s founding on February 7, 1835:

Bridgewater’s second “Big Block of Cheese Day” (BBCD) will be at Town Hall (201 Green Street) from 12 noon until 5:30 pm.  BBCD harkens back to then-President Andrew Jackson’s setting aside a day for the public to speak with his cabinet and be served with a slice of cheese in the process. Town staff will be available to discuss your suggestions, concerns, and questions.

Discover Bridgewater’s official winter sport with a special Charter Day session of Shufflecurl at Generations Park beginning at 1:00 pm.  If you are interested in participating, sign up to play by emailing shufflecurl@bridgewater.town. Join us to play or simply watch the fun at the ice rink.

At 7:00 pm festivities will move to Sipe Center with a celebration and presentation of the first-ever ABLE Award.  The ABLE Award will be presented to someone who has dedicated much of their life to making Bridgewater a better place to live and thus serve as “A Better Life Exemplar.” The Bridgewater College Chorale and Turner Ashby High School Chamber Choir will perform, and a variety of free desserts will be available from one of our Town’s businesses.  All residents are welcome to attend!
