The Town of Bridgewater will begin its routine maintenance of fire hydrants and flushing of water mains during the week of October 14. This process will take a couple of weeks to complete.
Flushing water from a hydrant removes the degraded chlorine and any polluted water from the Town’s water system. It also helps to clear out any sediment and other contaminants that could have settled within the water as the pipes age and start to degrade.
