How long have you been a part of the Bridgewater community?
Three years

When are you open?
Monday – Thursday,  8:30 am – 12 noon & 1 pm – 5 pm

What services do you offer?
Hastings Clinic is a self-pay, walk-in Medical Clinic. We provide convenient access to excellent medical care for adults and children as well as after-hours emergency care. We also provide skin checks, mole removals, and suturing services. We are in the process of moving towards being a Direct Primary Care clinic.

What is your most popular service?
Sniffles, cuts and scrapes!

What do you enjoy most about your business?
We love meeting new people and getting to know our Bridgewater community.

If your business were a movie or TV show, what would it be and why?
The English TV series “All Creatures Great and Small”, because I am half-British; I also grew up and spent most of my life in cities, but now I practice medicine with many of my patients’ being farmers.

It is quick and easy to get an appointment at Hastings,
even after hours.

What do you wish more people knew about your business?
That I really like to do dermatology procedures and stitches, and that it is really quick and easy to get in for an appointment – even after hours!

What is the funniest experience you have had in your business?
The reactions of some of my young pediatric patients when they realize that I am married to “Mrs. Shomo”, who is the head of their school: their little minds are blown! It is very, very cute to see!

The clinic’s play area helps kids feel more comfortable.

Dogs or cats?
Dogs!

Coffee or tea?
Tea!

Mini-Golf or ice skating?
Cycling!

What is your favorite thing about having a business here in Bridgewater?
I am not just saying this, but it is the community! For such a relatively small area, it is quite diverse. We have large factories and a small Liberal Arts College!

What is your favorite Bridgewater park?
I love playing tennis at the Doug Will Tennis Center!

What about your favorite Bridgewater event?
The Bridgewater Parades!

How do you hope your customers feel after visiting your business?
That this is a medical clinic that reminds them of what good medical care used to be.

How many countries has Jonathan lived in?
8 – My father worked for the World Bank.

How did you wind up in the Valley?
I first moved to the Shenandoah Valley to complete my degree at Augusta Medical Center.

What is the best town around, and why is it Bridgewater?
Bridgewater is clean and well run, has great parks and shops, and is a town that always wants to keep improving!
