The Story: When last we saw our band of mischievous gingerbread men and women, they had reunited (thanks to Mr. John Dough’s clues and your clever help) and had begun to make a cozy home at the Town Office where they’ve spent the year since. That is, until they heard us talking about how so many of our businesses were decorating for the holidays.
They chattered excitedly amongst themselves, debating which one would be the brightest or loveliest or funniest. Then it happened! Gwen, fresh off a visit to one of our businesses in town, came in the office door, and before you could say “Run, run, as fast as you can!” they were out the door to go see the decorations. Except that’s exactly what they said: “Run, run, as fast as you can! You can’t catch us, we’re the gingerbread band!”
And you know those silly gingerbread folks! So far, only Ginger–John Dough’s girlfriend, you may remember–has found her way back home, and we’re getting worried about the others. These gingerbread certainly don’t have the best sense of direction baked in. Ginger has given us some clues about where she thinks the others might have gone, but, like John, she likes to speak in riddles. So we need your help to find the gingerbread folks hidden in the decorations of our businesses.
The Way It Works: Eight stuffed gingerbread people are hiding in the decorations of one of our thirteen businesses participating in the decorating contest (not every business has a gingerbread to find). Use the clues from Ginger to help you figure out which businesses the gingerbread people are hiding in. Visit those businesses, find the gingerbread, and let a worker know you’ve found it. They will give you a raffle ticket (and maybe a small prize). Fill out the raffle tickets you receive, and turn them in at the Bridgewater Community Center at 201 Green Street by December 23 at 5:00 pm. Each family is limited to eight entries (one for each gingerbread found). Winners will be announced here on the Buzz on December 30.
