Bring the kids out for this musical tale of friendship based on the works of Dr. Seuss! Sunrise Theatre Company will be performing Seussical at Sipe Center on March 15 at 3:00 pm & 7:30 pm.
The Cat in the Hat tells the story of Horton, an elephant who discovers a speck of dust containing Whos, including Jojo, a Who child sent off to military school for thinking too many “thinks.” Horton faces a double challenge – not only must he protect the Whos from a world of naysayers and dangers, but he must guard an abandoned egg, left to his care by the irresponsible Mayzie La Bird. Although Horton faces ridicule, danger, kidnapping, and a trial, the intrepid Gertrude McFuzz never loses faith in him. Will the powers of friendship, loyalty, family, and community prevail?
Sunrise Theatre Company is a community organization dedicated to presenting premier quality theatre. Their team is anchored by a group of emerging professionals with a love for the arts, who focus on creating a welcoming environment for people of all ages to experience the arts. In addition to serving local students in New York, the company has also brought productions to venues around the region.
