FWAF, formerly known as X2 Comedy, will be back at Sipe Center on March 28 at 7:30 pm with some local favorites & national touring comedian Kasaun Wilson. The Funny Womacks & Friends (FWAF, for short) curates pop-up comedy shows featuring a diverse lineup of talented comedians, from nationally touring acts to local gems around the Shenandoah Valley and beyond.
The host of this show is Sam Spears, a May ’24 graduate of FWAF’s Comedy Classes. Growing up with six siblings, he’s always found humor in the chaos of his family. The Funny Womacks are Chris, a JMU Professor, and Dawn, the host of the Virginia Is For Laughers podcast about all things non-hiking in the Shenandoah Valley. They’ve performed around the Shenandoah Valley and beyond. Dawn brings a warmth, charm, and “we are family” vibe to the stage with her lighthearted observational humor, while Chris exposes a witty comedic style paired with a dry sarcastic sense of humor. Headliner Kasaun Wilson was most recently a staff writer and correspondent on the Emmy-nominated The Problem with Jon Stewart. You’ve also seen him on NBC, ABC, TruTV’s Laff Tracks, the 2024 Netflix is a Joke Festival, and Wanda Sykes Please and Thank You World Tour. Kasaun is a Howard University graduate and native of Jersey City, NJ.
Tickets are $28. Tickets are available for purchase online, over the phone or in person at the box office. The box office is open for in-person sales Thursday through Sunday, from 3-8 pm or by calling 540-908-4208.
