Seven Things to Know About Saturday’s Christmas Parade

Our Christmas Parade sponsored by Dynamic Aviation is fast approaching, so here are seven things you need to know!

When: The parade kicks off this Saturday at 4:30 pm!

Where: The parade will travel along the same route used for the lawn party parade. It will travel along North Main Street, turn on High Street, and finish along McGuffin Avenue before ending at the Lawn Party Grounds. This change is being made to limit the road closures at the Bridgewater Retirement Community. See the map for more details to help you pick out the perfect spot!

Detour: Roads on the parade route will be closed starting at 4:15 and reopened about 10 minutes after the conclusion of the parade. See the map below for the detour route if you are planning to travel through town during that time. Please note that the line up area will be closed to traffic beginning at 3:30 pm.

Parking: Parking is available at our municipal lots (behind Cracked Pillar, at Generations Park, at Bridgewater Community Center, beside Truist, at the corner of College and Grove Streets, and at Edgebriar and Bridgeview Parks) and at shared lots (at Pendleton Community Bank and Truist Bank). These lots can be accessed from the detour route using Grove Street. Street parking is also available. See the map for more details.

Ice Skating: While Generations Park Ice Rink will be open throughout the parade, we are not selling any advance tickets for the 4 pm and 6 pm sessions due to road closures and limited parking. Tickets for those sessions are available by walk-up only. Simply visit the Gen Park skate window to purchase tickets during these two sessions (all other sessions on Saturday will operate as normal with advance tickets available). So you can enjoy the parade and finish the evening off with a skate or even enjoy the sounds and sights of the parade from the ice!

Entering the Parade: Dynamic Aviation is still accepting registrations for the parade in person at their office at 1402 Airport Road.

Winter WonderLane: While you’re in the downtown area enjoying the parade, be sure to check out the holiday light display at Oakdale Park from 5:00 – 9:30 pm!
