On this day (May 25) fifty years ago, Town Police Officer Wayne Stoutamyer was shot and killed outside his home on Broad Street. He had served as an officer for three and a half years as well as the chief of the Bridgewater Volunteer Fire Company. In honor of his service to the Town and remembering his sacrifice, we are placing a wreath at the Memorial Garden in Oakdale Park. The public is invited to drop by during the day to pay their respects and give thanks for this brave servant of our community.
On this Memorial Day, we also remember and give thanks for all those who given their lives in service to our community and country.
