Great ShakeOut Earthquake Drill

An earthquake drill? In Virginia? Yes, even Virginia has experienced earthquakes in the last few years. Whether you live in an area prone to earthquakes or may one day visit an area where earthquakes are possible, it’s essential to know how to protect yourself during an earthquake.

Bridgewater College is participating in the Great Southeast ShakeOut Earthquake Drill this Thursday, October 19th, at 9:15 a.m. The drill will focus on the College’s response and evacuation procedures during an earthquake and allow the College to test its emergency alert system. The earthquake drill includes using the campus siren.  In a real emergency, the siren is intended to alert the campus community to seek shelter where they are.
