Our Christmas Parade sponsored by Dynamic Aviation is fast approaching, so here are seven things you need to know!
When: The Parade kicks off at 5 pm with a flyover by Dynamic!
Where: The Parade will travel along N Main St, turn on Dinkel, and flow through the Retirement Community before ending on Mt. Crawford Ave. See the map for more details to help you pick out the perfect spot!
Detour: Roads on the parade route will be closed starting a few minutes before 5:00 until about 10 minutes after the conclusion of the parade. See the map below for the detour route if you are planning to travel through town during that time.
Parking: Parking is available at our municipal lots (behind Cracked Pillar, at Harrison Park and Bridgewater Community Center, beside Truist, and at Seven Bridges, Edgebriar, and Bridgeview Parks) and at shared lots (at Pendleton Community Bank and Truist Bank). These lots can be accessed from the detour route using Grove Street. Street parking is also available. While Oakdale Park lots will be open, they are designated as the parade teardown area and may be blocked for a while after the parade. Parking at Generations Park will be available but there will be no ability to come or leave for the duration of the road closures. See the map for more details.
Ice Skating: While Generations Park Ice Rink will be open throughout the parade, we are not selling any advance tickets for the 4 pm and 6 pm sessions due to road closures and limited parking. Tickets for those sessions are available by walk-up only. Simply visit the Gen Park skate window to purchase tickets during these two sessions (all other sessions on Saturday will operate as normal with advance tickets available). So you can enjoy the parade and finish the evening off with a skate or even enjoy the sounds and sights of the parade from the ice!
Community Day: Before the parade, Dynamic Aviation is hosting a “Meet the Fleet Community Day” from 1 to 4 pm at the Lawn Party Grounds. This event will feature vehicles from Dynamic and local first responders, craft vendors, pictures with Santa, food trucks, a DJ, and activities for kids. There will be a flight simulator in the parking lot across from Dairy Queen on North Main Street.
Christmas Decorations: While you’re in the downtown area enjoying the parade, be sure to check out the holiday decorations and vote for your favorite decorated Bridgewater business in the Holiday Decorating Classic! Don’t forget to keep an eye out for any hiding gingerbread!
