Our Police Chief Phillip Read was recently recognized as one of our “Hometown Heroes.” The award was presented by ALCOVA Mortgage. Since 2014, ALCOVA Mortgage has recognized Veterans across the region for their dedication to our country and their continued service to their communities.
Chief Read has led our police department here in Bridgewater since October 2021. Before that he spent over a decade with the Harrisonburg Police Department, earning the Medal of Honor and Award of Excellence. Prior to that, he served in the Virginia Army National Guard in both Afghanistan and Iraq. He was awarded the Bronze Star for exceptionally meritorious service.
Congratulations, Chief Read, on an honor well-deserved!
