Enjoy a night of a cappella music with local JMU groups Note-oriety & the BluesTones! These groups will be performing at Sipe Center on Saturday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m.
Note-oriety is James Madison University’s premier award-winning upper voices a cappella group, founded in 1998 by Kelly Myer-Femenella & Bonnie Estes. Note-oriety is a nationally recognized group, consistently ranked as one of the top upper voices a cappella groups in the country. They have been recognized and praised by many prominent figures in the music industry, including Lake Street Dive, Kelly Clarkson, TLC, and Nicki Minaj. College Magazine named them one of “The 10 Female Groups Running the A Cappella World” in February of 2018.
The BluesTones are also an award-winning upper voices a cappella group from James Madison University. The group was founded by Susie Gaskins and Laurie Wright in February of ’99. Beyond JMU, the BluesTones have toured extensively on the East Coast, and performed alongside many other a cappella groups including Virginia Tech’s Juxtaposition, University of Virginia’s Academical Village People, University of Kentucky’s AcoUstiKats, The Vanderbilt Melodores, Florida State University’s All-Night Yahtzee, and JMU’s very own Exit 245.
The seating for this event will be general admission & tickets will be $10 each. Tickets are available for purchase online, over the phone or in person at the box office. The box office is open for in-person sales Thursday through Sunday, from 3-8 p.m. or by calling 540-908-4208.
