Six Things to Know About Possible Snow

By now, you have likely heard about the possibility of snow in the forecast for Monday. Here at the Town Office, we are busy preparing for what the storm may bring and want to you to know what to expect.

Snow Removal: This winter, we are implementing an updated strategy for clearing the streets of snow in the hopes of limiting the impact of excess salt on infrastructure, public health, and the environment. Read more about this change in the January Current.

Possible Office Closure: We will make a decision by 7:00 am on Monday as to whether the Town Office will be closed for the day.

Snow Day Movie: If schools are closed due to weather, we will show Wicked – Part 1 at Sipe Center at 1:00 pm, with doors opening at 12:30 pm.

Large Item Pickup: We are delaying the start of large item pickup until at least Tuesday. If possible, hold your large items until after the snow has passed. To aid us in salting and plowing the road, please ensure that any items set out are placed away from the curb.

Trash Service: We do not have any word yet from Waste Management as to how the weather may or may not affect this week’s trash service. Please stay tuned to the Buzz for an update as we receive that information from them. For Bridgewater Retirement Community residents, we plan to pick up your trash on Tuesday afternoon.

Make Room for Snowplows: Avoid parking on the street if you have an off-street option available to you. Avoid unnecessary travel when crews are clearing snow and ice. Do not attempt to pass snowplows, and stay at least 100 feet behind them.

Thank you for your cooperation and patience during this potential snow storm! Stay tuned to the Buzz for updates.
