If you’ve been looking for a way to get your pharmaceuticals without leaving Town (or even leaving home), you’re in luck. Walmart now delivers to Bridgewater! Here’s the scoop:
Fees:
- Delivery is free for Walmart + members (lots of other benefits too!)
- Non-members pay $9.95 per delivery
Other Details:
- Delivery can be expected as soon as the same day (must order before 1:00 pm) or within a few days.
- Additional fees apply for Express and 3-hour delivery.
- Some prescriptions, such as controlled substances and refrigerated medications, may not qualify for delivery.
A Little History
As you probably know, Town staff has worked hard to bring a new pharmacy to our area for several years. In the process, we discovered that, rather than new pharmacies opening, many have closed their doors in recent years. This is due to a variety of factors, including rising competition from online retailers, lower reimbursement rates from insurance companies, the significant impact of Pharmacy Benefit Managers on independent pharmacies, and increased operational costs. Since 2021, our staff has engaged with more pharmacists than we can count. A few have even made it to the altar only to back out at the last minute as they decided the above-mentioned challenges have become insurmountable. Undeterred, we’ve continued to look for options to meet our community’s pharmaceutical needs.
